What we collect, and when

We only collect information you choose to give us through this website, plus limited technical data described under “Cookies and analytics”.

If you book a free design visit, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, the type of project, and your preferred visit date and time.

If you send a general enquiry, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, the type of enquiry and the content of your message.

If you send a trade enquiry, we collect your company name, your name, job title, email address, telephone number, project name, project location, volume, programme dates, the nature of your requirement, your message, and any files you attach.

When you visit any page, our web server records your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type in its access logs. This is a normal part of running a website securely.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a design visit — our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
  • To supply and install furniture you order — performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep the website secure and working — our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and diagnosing faults.
  • To measure how the website is used and how well our advertising works — your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • To send you marketing about our products and services[UKB to confirm whether marketing emails are actually sent. If they are, we must only send them with your consent or to existing customers about similar products, and every message must carry an unsubscribe link. If UKB does not run marketing emails, delete this line.]

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to operate:

  • FormSubmit — the website’s forms are delivered to us through FormSubmit, a form-relay service. Everything you type into a form, including any files you attach, passes through FormSubmit’s systems before reaching our inbox. FormSubmit operates outside the UK.
  • Microsoft — our email is hosted on Microsoft 365, so your enquiry is stored in our mailbox there.
  • Google — if you accept analytics and advertising cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads receive information about your visit. Google Fonts is also used to display the site’s typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
  • DigitalOcean — our website is hosted on servers located in London, United Kingdom.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Transfers outside the UK

FormSubmit and Google may process your information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the UK Government’s adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, as applicable to each provider.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a sale: [UKB to confirm — commonly 12 to 24 months]. Customer records where we have supplied and installed furniture: [UKB to confirm — normally at least 6 years, to cover contract, warranty and tax obligations]. Website server logs: [UKB to confirm — typically 14 to 30 days]. We delete or anonymise information once it is no longer needed.

Cookies and analytics

We set a small amount of essential storage in your browser to remember your cookie choice. Nothing else is set unless you press Accept on the cookie banner.

If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, and Google Ads to measure which adverts lead to enquiries. If you press Reject, those cookies are not set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which will bring the banner back.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: ask for a copy of the information we hold about you; ask us to correct it if it is wrong; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict how we use it; object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests; ask us to transfer it to another provider; and withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. There is no charge in ordinary circumstances.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
