Fitted wardrobes in Uxbridge
Our factory and showroom are in Greenford, nine miles and about twenty-five to thirty minutes from Uxbridge. We measure your room, make the furniture to those measurements ourselves, and fit it with our own installers. Every photograph on this page is real UKB work.

What makes a fitted wardrobe in Uxbridge different?
Uxbridge bedrooms tend to be wider than they are deep. The 1930s semis and detached houses at the end of the Metropolitan line were built with generous frontages, and the later estates followed the same proportions. That shape suits one full-width run along a single wall rather than a pair of units either side of a chimney breast.
It also makes depth the number that matters. In a wide, shallow room, taking 600mm out of a 2.6 metre depth is something you feel every time you walk in. We will often recommend a shallower carcass with sliding doors and a pull-out hanging rail, trading a little internal depth for floor you actually use — the opposite of the advice we would give in a long, narrow Victorian room.

Wide rooms, and why depth is the decision
The interwar stock around Uxbridge, Ickenham and Hillingdon is broadly Metroland: bay fronts, hipped roofs, a box room over the stairs. What differs from Harrow is scale — plots are larger, more houses are detached, and main bedrooms are often wide enough that a single continuous run of five or six doors is possible where elsewhere you would be splitting it around obstructions.
The newer developments, including the housing on the former RAF Uxbridge site, throw up a different issue: rooms that are not square. An angled or splayed wall is not a problem for made-to-measure furniture, but it is fatal to a modular one, because every carcass in a modular system assumes ninety degrees. Loft conversions across the older stock bring the usual sloping ceilings.

Design, manufacture and fitting under one roof
A free design visit at your home takes 30 to 60 minutes — we measure, talk through how you actually use the storage, and give you a price. The furniture is then made at our own factory on the Kelvin Industrial Estate in Greenford, and fitted by our own installers rather than subcontractors. That is the reason we can be held to the measurements we took: the people who measured, the people who made it and the people who fit it all work for the same company.
You are welcome to visit the showroom and see the machinery before you commit — see about and factory, or read our customer reviews.
Fitted wardrobes in Uxbridge — common questions
Do you cover Uxbridge and the surrounding villages?
Yes — Uxbridge, Ickenham, Hillingdon, Cowley and Denham, and the rest of the Hillingdon borough including Hayes and West Drayton. We are in Greenford, roughly nine miles away.
My bedroom is wide but not very deep. What do you recommend?
Usually a shallower carcass — 450 to 500mm rather than 600 — with sliding doors and a pull-out hanging rail. You give up a little internal depth and get back floor space you use every day. In a wide room that trade is almost always worth making.
One of the walls in my room is at an angle.
That is fine for made-to-measure furniture and fatal for modular. Every carcass in a flat-pack system assumes a right angle, so an angled wall ends up hidden behind a filler panel. We measure the actual angle and build to it.
Can you do a run of five or six doors as one piece?
Yes, and Uxbridge rooms are often wide enough to make it worthwhile. It is manufactured as one design so the door gaps, grain direction and any handleless shadow lines run consistently across the whole wall.
Is the design visit really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation. It takes 30 to 60 minutes: we measure, talk through how you actually use the storage, and give you a price.
